Equipment

  • 1 Small baking dish or baking sheet oven-safe
  • 1 parchment paper for easy cleanup
  • 1 spoon for spreading the jam

Ingredients

For the baked brie

  • 1 wheel brie cheese about 8 ounces
  • 1/3 cup red jam or preserves such as raspberry, strawberry, or cherry
  • 1/4 cup pecans or walnuts chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves optional

For serving

  • 1 box round crackers or crostini
  • 1 cup red grapes
  • 1 cup strawberries halved if large

Instructions

Prepare and bake

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a small baking sheet or oven-safe dish with parchment paper.
  • Place the wheel of brie on the prepared pan or dish, leaving the rind on.
  • Spoon the jam over the top of the brie and gently spread it so it stays mostly on top.
  • Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the jam. Add the thyme leaves, if using.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the brie is soft in the center and the topping is warm and glossy.
  • Carefully transfer the baked brie to a serving plate.

Serve

  • Arrange crackers, grapes, and strawberries around the brie.
  • Let sit for 2 to 3 minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

Do not overbake; start checking at 12 minutes. Leave the rind on to help the brie hold its shape. Raspberry, cherry, strawberry, or fig preserves all work well.
